Summary
The Education Ministry slapped three universities with steep fines Friday, recommending one lose its license, as a judicial investigation looked into allegations the institutions were involved in cash-for-degrees schemes.
This meant the SUC would have to pay roughly $90,000 for the two fines combined.
The institution is also barred from registering more students while a confidential judicial investigation begins.
If the SUC fails to pay the fine by the end of the current academic year, it will be prevented from welcoming new students for the 2019-20 academic year.
The Daily Star was unable to reach the SUC for comment.
